BATB's New Death Traps !

British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) has been promoting its new brand Luckies using alluring phrases such as "World-class Quality", "Refreshing Mint upon click" to hook more and more people into smoking. The company has already started marketing Luckies brand in the medium tier of the local cigarette market. Introducing new brands in the already crowded cigarette market of Bangladesh pushes more people into smoking and allows existing smokers to switch to new brands once the price is increased. Such a threat to public health must end through proper tobacco taxation policy and its implementation.
