Death Marketing-1Japan Tobacco Violating Tobacco Control Law
Japan Tobacco International (JTI) has recently been promoting its brand CAMEL, using alluring posters and displays that read Signature Character. The sole purpose behind such use of flashy posters and gaudy campaign items is to attract the attention of potential youth customers to its brand and incite a craving for lighting up. The existing tobacco control law bans the advertisement and promotion of tobacco products at points of sale and considers violations as punishable offenses. The strict implementation of the law must be ensured to put an end to such advertising campaigns. |
