Before Budget Finalization, Tobacco companies' Promoting New Cig Prices

The moment the proposed budget for FY 2021-22 was unveiled, tobacco companies has started putting price declaration posters at all points-of-sale under the pretense of informing the smokers. The actual purpose lies in promoting cigarette brands of these companies. Promotion of tobacco products at points-of-sale is a punishable offence, as per the tobacco control law. Such advertisements and promotional campaign must be stopped immediately.
