Abul Bidi Violating the Law

Abul Bidi has been promoting its brand with gaudy posters that read, “Agun Bhangar Voy Nai, Gold-er Tanei Shanti Pai” (“No worries about flames dying out: Smoking Gold Bidi gives you all the peace”). This is a cunning trick to hook the low-income demographic into smoking. According to the tobacco control law, advertising and promotion of tobacco products at points of sale are banned and considered punishable offences. Strict implementation of the law must be ensured to root out all sorts of advertising and promotion of tobacco products.
