Japan Tobacco's Promotion with Alluring Message

Japan Tobacco has recently been widely promoting one of its cigarette brands with posters that read 'Gold Class Quality Plus, Flavor Value First Class". The purpose of this new campaign, with all its gaudy colors and alluring texts, is to draw the attention of the youth and adolescents and hook them into the addiction of tobacco. The existing tobacco control law bans the advertisement and promotion of tobacco products at points of sale and considers violations as punishable offenses. Strict implementation of the law must be ensured to end all advertisements and promotions of tobacco products.
