BAT Bangladesh Keeps Bagging More Accolades!

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), an autonomous professional body under the Ministry of Commerce, has, once again, showered British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) with prestigious accolades. The crest and certificate of the award was handed over to the company representatives by two of the Hon. Advisors (Finance and Commerce) of the Interim Government of the country. It should be noted that this is the 10th time ICMAB, a govt. body, has chosen BATB for its award, and thus contributed in encouraging the deadly trade of tobacco. Such a move contradicts with the government's 2021 decision to declare tobacco companies ineligible for the prestigious President's Award for Industrial Development. Other government bodies should also follow suit and stop wasting prestigious awards on tobacco business which brings only death and devastation.
